There are numerous gambling dens in the commonwealth, most on moored river boats. The biggest of the Iowa casinos is the Meswaki Bingo Casino Hotel, a Native American casino in Tama, with 127,669 sq.ft. of casino area, 1,500 slot machines, thirty table games, like blackjack, craps, roulette, and baccarat, and many types of poker; as well as 3 dining rooms, monthly shows, and betting instructions. An additional big Indian gambling den is the Winna Vegas, with 45,000 square feet, 668 one armed bandits, and fourteen table games. Additionally, the Ameristar Casino Hotel in Council Bluffs is open 24 hours, with 38,500 sq.ft., 1,589 one armed bandits, 36 table games, and four eatery’s. There are several other dominant Iowa gambling dens, including Harrah’s Council Bluffs, with 28,250 sq.ft., 1,212 one armed bandits, and 39 table games.

A tinier Iowa gambling den is the Diamond Jo, a riverboat casino in Dubuque, with 17,813 sq.ft., 776 one armed bandits, and 19 table games. The Catfish Bend water based, in Fort Madison, with 13,000 sq.ft., 535 one armed bandits, and 14 table games. One more Iowa water based casino, The Isle of Capri, is open all hours, with 24,939 square feet, 1,100 one armed bandits, and 24 table games. The Mississippi Belle II, a 10,577 square foot river based gambling hall in Clinton, has 506 slots, 14 table games, live productions, and Thursday blackjack events.

Iowa casinos offer a great amount of tax income to the commonwealth of Iowa, which has allowed the bankrolling of a good many commonwealth wide activities. Vacationers have increased at a fast rate along with the demand for services and a gain in jobs.
