Cambodia Gambling Dens

There is an appealing background to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just over the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall betting is against the law. Eight casinos are based in a relatively tiny space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This group of Cambodia casinos is in an excellent area, a 3 to four hour trip from Bangkok and Macao, the two largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia casinos do a thriving business with Thai workers and visitors from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with just a few Westerners. The phenomenal capital acquired from the gambling dens ranges from 7.5 million dollars to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a few restrictions requirements for gambling hall ownership. Ownership is required to be mostly Thai; although, investment sources are ambiguous. The borders are formally open from 9:00 a.m. to 1700, and even though visas are supposedly necessary to pass, there are means around this, as is accurate of most border crossings.

The original Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only one gambling hall in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, an anchored boat casino, highlights 150 slots and sixty tables. The Naga gambling den is open all hours with forty two tables of mini-baccarat, four tables of blackjack, ten of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, opened in the late nineties and the Golden Crown soon followed. There are one hundred and fifty one armed bandits and five table games at the Golden Crown and one hundred and four one armed bandits and 68 table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort features three hundred slots and seventy table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has 166 slot machines and ninety six table games, including eighty seven baccarat (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. In addition, there is the Casino Tropicana, with one hundred and thirty five slot machines and 66 of the familiar table games, as well as one table of Casino Stud Poker. An additional of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, also a part of a motel, is the Princess Casino with one hundred and sixty six slot machines and 97 games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an all-inclusive resort and hotel compound that features many luxuries on top of the gambling hall, which houses 10,000 square feet of 130 slot machine games and 88 tables.
