Cambodia Gambling Halls
August 21st, 2022 by Haylie

There is a fascinating story to the Cambodia gambling dens that reside just across the border from next door Thailand, in which gambling hall gaming is not legal. Eight gambling halls are anchored in a relatively small space in the metropolis of Poipet in Cambodia. This conclave of Cambodia gambling halls is in an excellent spot, a 3 to 4 hour travel from Bangkok and Macao, the 2 largest gaming centers in Asia. Cambodia gambling dens do a huge business with Thai workers and guests from Malaysia, Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, with only very couple of Westerners. The amazing income gained from the gambling dens ranges from $7.5 million to over 12.5 million dollars, and there are a couple of controls requirements for casino ownership. Ownership is assumed to be mainly Thai; however, financing sources are cryptic. The borders are formally open from 09:00 to 1700, and although visas are apparently required to pass, there are means around this, as is real of many border crossings.

The first Cambodia casinos opened in Phnom Penh in the mid nineties, but were forced to close in the late nineties, leaving only a single gambling den in the capital, the Naga Resort. The Naga, a docked bateau gambling hall, features one hundred and fifty slot machines and sixty table games. The Naga gambling den never closes with forty two tables of mini-baccarat chemin de fer, 4 tables of twenty-one, 10 of roulette, two of Caribbean Stud Poker, and 1 each of Pai-Gow and Tai-Sai.

The original gambling hall in Poipet, the Holiday Palace, premiered in 1999 and the Golden Crown before long followed. A total of one hundred and fifty slots and 5 tables at the Golden Crown and 104 slot machines and sixty eight table games at the Holiday Palace. The newest Holiday Palace Casino and Resort highlights three hundred one armed bandits and 70 table games and the Princess Hotel and Casino, also in Poipet, has one hundred and sixty six slot machines and ninety six table games, including 87 punto banco (the most beloved game), Fan Tan, and Pai Gow. Also, there is the Casino Tropicana, with 135 slot machine games and 66 of the familiar tables, as well as 1 table of Casino Stud Poker. Another one of the eight gambling halls in Poipet, again in a motel, is the Princess Casino with 166 slot machines and ninety seven table games. The Star Vegas Casino is part of an international vacation and hotel complex that contains many amenities accompanying the gambling den, which offers ten thousand sq.ft. of 130 slot machine games and 88 table games.
